Instruments: Trumpet, Cornet, Flugelhorn
The Allentown Band is remembering our friend and colleague Frank Kaderabek, who passed away December 28, 2023. In 1999, after retiring as Principal Trumpet with the Philadelphia Orchestra, Frank joined The Allentown Band, where he remained a member for 15 years. During that time, in addition to playing in the trumpet section, Frank was featured soloist on many live concerts, including the Kennedy Center and Carnegie Hall, as well as on “Our Band Heritage” series of recordings. His brilliant technical proficiency and incredible musicianship was especially captured on Volume 15 “Virtuoso,” where he performed thirteen varied selections on trumpet, cornet and flugelhorn. The consummate professional, despite his credentials, Frank never was arrogant, but rather humble, and always a team player.
Ron feels personally blessed to have had the good fortune to count him as a friend. Many other members of the band enjoyed his camraderie.
